The Illbillys' first show as the Illbillys! The first time JB, Peter & Jack played together in public was in May 2002, at Blessed Sacrament @ Huguenot's Beef & Music Festival, but they did so horribly named "Peter, Jeter & Skeeter" (Jack being Skeeter, for some unknown reason). It was at Richmond's Border Chophouse on June 14, 2003 that the nameless trio came up with the name Illbillys: The dry-erase board listing the day's entertainment had the band listed as "The Hillbilly Boys," based on Jack's description of their playing style...after some consideration, all the letters of their name, save for "The Illbillys," was rubbed off of the board. A legend is born!
