Playing just before the Illbillys, this female troubador is representative of those who played at this venue, known, for some reason, as "the Juicy Stage." Most of the acts I saw while trudging up and down Cary Street that day were similar, one- and two-person acts (one was a singing keyboardist, who broke into a somewhat violent fit of yodeling as I passed, setting off a nearby car alarm), with the few full bands playing on either actual stages or larger covered areas on side streets.
