Anyone who laughed at such headgear in Africa in the late 1800's received a huge gunshot wound from the British, who were of course the ones wearing the things, but nobody was available, fortunately, to shoot those who felt that Peter's pith helmet was a silly thing to wear at Teresa's 4th of July party in Richmond in 2005.
