Over a span of 90 minutes or so, Illbillys began to trickle in. Jack's other band, the Lost Souls, had won a battle of the bands at the Charlottesville Marathon that morning, so he began the evening's Illbillydom by waking up late from a post-Charlottesville nap in a panic and flying out the door...dazed and confused, he nonetheless got his drums set up in plenty of time for the 8:15ish gig start. Chris, meanwhile, showed up his usual thirteen seconds before launch and was plugged in and ready to play before anyone else.
