The stage on which the Illbillys played @ this venue was far more luxurious than that to which they'd grown accustomed...generally Jack lays out his beautiful, anitbacterial rug and THAT becomes the stage. As it happened at the Capital Ale House, the band was surrounded by beautiful wood paneling, was blinded by row after row of stage lights, and perched atop a wide stage that was actually a stage! Needless to say, the luxury immediately went to Jack's head, and he began playing without any drumsticks...or cymbals or most of his drums! Joe offered his posterior as a potential cymbal, but was fortunately ignored.
