On Saturday, April 1st 2006, the Illbillys had the singular honor of playing for Bill & Melissa Sapon at their wedding, held at the Carillon in Richmond, VA. Some 200 souls were present for the event, which took place 'neath a sky of blue in the early spring breeze on the steps of the tower. Despite the odd shape of the venue (making for some decidedly WEIRD acoustics) and the fact that all the building's electrical plugs were a good 9 and a half feet up the walls (if anybody can explain THAT, please let us know), the event went well for all concerned. This was the Illbillys' first wedding performance, and everyone seemed reasonably content with the outcome.
