JB & Peter prepare to lose some fingers to the cold in 1986, hoping (vainly) to shoot deer. JB proved to be a most able hunting guide, as his clan had been hunting the Ballsville area of Powhatan County since the mid-15th century. Peter, however, having had no hunting tradition in his northeastern upbringing, saw nothing wrong with wearing a tie for the occasion...nor, in fact, with wearing a hat proudly displaying a communist star, practically guaranteed to at best confuse and at worst enrage JB's rural huntmates.
