The Illbillys didn't just spring spontaneously into being , as did things like lightbulbs and Mountain Dew. 'Twas a slow, painful process that began with JB & Peter strumming guitars together during their senior year of high school in 1985, and ended with Jack, who had befriended JB's future wife, Jill, at Radford University several years later, doing some experimental skin-pounding (drumming, that is) for the strummin' two. Over the years, JB & Peter had played together under the names The Billy Goats, The Fiendish Thingies, and Peter & Jeter. Dreadfully, The Illbillys first played together in 2002 as Peter, Jeter & Skeeter (gag)!
