As the ceiling vibrated from the frenetic dancing overhead, the Illbillys posed in their private, green sanctuary for the required-by-law group picture. The show certainly hadn't been a failure. All of the elements of a successful show had been in place, except for one: people having any interest whatsoever in the band.
Jack received a kind thank-you note from the management of the Capital Ale House not long after the party, thanking the band for a job well done and promising to have the Illbillys back again soon...but I'll bet not for next year's Christmas party!!
