As the Illbillys are still working on learning enough songs to play as a four-piece band to fill three sets, their first set is usually as a threesome, without poor Joe...who wants to play SO very badly, the INSTANT the first set is over he LEAPS to the stage, SNATCHES his guitar, tunes up, then stands there wagging his tail until the rest of the band drags itself back up to play again. Fortunately his responsibilities as Default Sound Guy for the Illbillys keeps him pretty busy for that first set; otherwise he'd explode.
